Shane Warne Marches On At WSOP

Australian cricket legend, Shane Warne, is through to day two of the World Series of Poker. Warne is playing in the World Series of Poker in Las Vegas as the Captain of the 888poker.com team.

Warne has been tweeting throughout the WSOP direct from the poker table. Shane flagged on his twitter page how he’s been listening to Bruce Springsteen during sessions.

Shane Warne commented via his twitter page: ‘I had $33,000 in chips at one point but with three hands to go lost $12,000.

Champ Camp Qualifier Begins WSOP Run

888poker qualifier and PokerListings player Belinda Roberts is living the WSOP dream.

A 49-year-old former dealer from Australia, Roberts is hard to miss on Day 1b of the 2010 Main Event with her trademark Australian Bush hat and mosquito veil.

Roberts qualified through PokerListings’ exclusive VIP Champion Camp freeroll on 888poker where she outlasted over 700 players to win a seat in the Main Event.

“I’ve been dreaming of sitting under these lights for so many years,” said Roberts. “I was actually planning on 2011 Aussie Millions and hopefully satellite into the Main Event but I was instead able to qualify through PokerListings.”

Despite running a king-high flush into an ace-high flush in the first level, Roberts was optimistic about her chances in the tournament.

“I’m calming down a bit,” she said.

WSOP Goes International

For the third straight year the World Series of Poker has hosted players from more than 100 countries.

With three bracelets yet to be awarded, the 2010 WSOP has attracted players from 29% more countries than the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver.

Learning to read different board textures is a critical aspect in playing winning poker. Some players will bet and call with no regard to the board texture, which can be a costly mistake. By considering the board texture and assigning a hand range on your opponents, you are able to know with greater accuracy if your opponent has a hand.

The first thing you will need to identify is the flop board texture, however the concept of board texture can be discussed as a general concept. Once you get to the river card, you can consider the board texture with all 5 cards on the board, but there is betting and decisions which need to be made before you get to the river card, if the hand even goes that far.

WSOP Day 33: A Day with No Final Tables

But Day 33 was the first since the beginning of the 2010 World Series of Poker without any tournament hosting a final table. And it simply felt odd.The Tournament of Champions was wrapped until the weekend, and there were no events hitting their final table on Tuesday, June 29. Matusow Tops TOC on Day 2

Mike Matusow, Huck Seed, Johnny Chan are among the chip leaders after another short day of the Tournament of Champions.

The world-class field of poker’s finest were back to the Amazon Room stage for Day 2 of the Tournament of Champions, and it appeared that no one wanted to hit the rail early.

There were only 10 eliminations through Level 8, and with 17 players still remaining WSOP directors came up with an alternate plan to finish the event.

“You’ve seen nobody has dropped in the last two hours, everyone’s a great player,” said Chan, who is in third place with 68,600 chips.

“There aren’t going to be any suckers dumping off chips.
