Three new WSOP bracelet winners and a new leader in the POY race highlight Day 25 at the World Series of Poker. We’ve got the details on that plus ongoing action from each and every tournament from the Rio Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas. Event 36 – $2,500 No-Limit Hold’em – Winner 1,734 bought into this event and Russian Mikhail Lakhitov outlasted them all. This victory was good for $749,610, a bracelet, and the lead in the 2011 Player of the Year race, an accolade that belonged to Phil Hellmuth before this evening. Lakhitov had cashed four times at this summer prior to this win, and now has just under $1 million in lifetime earnings. Lakhitov defeated Hassan Babajane heads-up. Three more bracelets were awarded today at the World Series of Poker as Allen Bari, Harrison Wilder and Amir Lehavot all became WSOP champions. We’ve got the details on those victories plus summaries of each ongoing WSOP event below. Event 4 – $5,000 No-Limit Hold’em – Final The number of great poker players who have never won a bracelet is large but tonight we crossed Allen Bari’s name off that list. 865 players paid the $5,000 entry fee in this event to build a prize pool in excess of $4 million. Over $2.6 million of that went to the final table finishers, with Allen Bari taking home $874,116. Bari defeated Maria Ho heads-up and outlasted a tough final-table line-up including Ricky Fohrenbach, Jesse Chinni and Farzad Bonyadi to win his first WSOP bracelet. Contemporary entertainment rests on two main pillars: Judgment and criticism. We’ve decided to bring that simple elegance to PokerListings.com by reducing the poker world’s weekly happenings to two simple lists. Buckle up and get ready for this week’s In and Out List. Poker’s In List – May 13-20 1. Hat Guy Prahlad Friedman dropped a new music video this week and unleashed a star on an unsuspecting poker world. The man who is now and forever known as Hat Guy may have questionable rapping skills and little to no coordination, rhythm or basic motor control, but what he does have is commitment. Anyone willing to commit to something like this as wholeheartedly as this guy did, and in the face of such obvious potential for ridicule, gets a spot on our “In List” every time. 2.
It certainly wasn’t due to a lack of effort as Blom played 4,011 hands of $50/$100 PLO and No-Limit Hold’em.

Unfortunately for Blom, he was absolutely crushed by Rui “PepperoniF” Cao. In a little over 2,000 hands Blom lost $467k.

The Scandinavian phenom would go on to record a small victory against Dan “jungleman12” Cates in No-Limit Hold’em but it was only enough to bring his overall losses down to $423k.

It’s been an up-and-down year for Blom on PokerStars but he’s certainly down now. Including last night’s

The 56-player money bubble cracked early on Day 3 Tuesday as the field was whittled down from 68 to beyond the final three tables.

Ramdin started the day with a 2:1 chip lead over anyone close to him, and although he still leads, he does so by a much slimmer margin heading into Wednesday’s playdown to the final eight.

Online poker star Alex Kamberis, NAPT Las Vegas finalist David Parades and 2005 World Series of Poker Main Event champ Joe Hachem all sit in the top ten and within striking distance.

Despite PokerStars and the North American Poker Tour pulling its branding at the 11th hour, The Big Event at The Bicycle Casino still drew 417 players over two starting days in Los Angeles this weekend.

A $1,921,327 prize pool was created with $500,000 reserved for first.

The tournament will run through Mar.

Dan “jungleman12” Cates bumped a cold streak last night with a $326k win on Full Tilt Poker.

Cates, who was down over $300k in the last few weeks, took on rumprammer and gavz101 at $500/$1,000 Cap PLO.

In a three-hour span Cates recorded 1,757 hands and absolutely rocked the opposition, proving once again that he’s one of the premier online cash game players in the world.

Not content with merely dominating on Full Tilt, Cates also won an extra $30k on his PokerStars “w00ki3z” account.

Cates is now down only $86k on Full Tilt and, if he’s able to keep momentum on his side, could potentially be even by the weekend.

Jungleman12 wasn’t the only story last night as Ilari “Ziigmund” Sahamies ventured on to PokerStars as “Ilari FIN.”

It’s understandable that Sahamies is looking to switch things up as he had a miserable 2010 on Full Tilt and was already down $200k on the site this year.

The new site seems to be working out for Sahamies as the Finnish pro was able to rake in $47k playing against Dan Cates and Mitch “LooneyGerbil” Carle.

It had been some time since Phil Ivey had played online but last night the legendary Full Tilt Pro took to the tables for brief session of $500/$1,000 Cap PLO. Ivey pulled in $39k in 65 h

The 2011 PokerStars Caribbean Adventure kicked off with its $100k Super High Roller event at the Atlantis Resort & Casino on Paradise Island in the Bahamas Thursday.

Daniel Negreanu

38 of poker’s biggest names and a few wealthy whales helped create a $3,743,000 prize pool that will see the top five paid, including $1.5 million for first, $1 million for second, $643,000 for third, $400k for fourth and a $200,000 fifth-place prize.

The similarly structured Aussie Millions $100k buy-in high roller event has never seen more than 24 players.

While high rollers like Phil Ivey and Tom “durrrr” Dwan were conspicuous in their absence, the field featured a number of poker’s elite players, including Antonio Esfandiari, Jason Mercier, Mike “Timex” McDonald, Phil Laak, Bertrand “ElkY” Grospellier and David Benyamine.

Notable high stakes whales Guy Laliberte and Masa Kagawa also entered, but failed to make it through the day, joining pros like Ashton Griffin, Hoyt Corkins, online poker phenom Viktor “Isildur1″ Blom and 2010 WSOP Main Event champ Jonathan Duhamel on the early rail.

A total of 23 survived the first nine levels of play with German Tobias Reinkemeier using a late flurry to barely edge out Team PokerStars Pro Daniel Negreanu for the overnight lead.

Bryn Kenney, Nick Shulman, Dan “Jungleman12″ Cates and Eugene Katchalov remain close heading into Day 2 Friday.
The final table will go off at Atlantis Saturday.

If you aren’t well versed in poker lingo and unsure of what exactly a Satellite is and why they are such a big deal, listen up and we will clue you in. When you find a tournament you want to play in but your bankroll balance is stopping you, don’t worry about not being able to afford to front the whole buy-in, instead, satellite your way in! That big guaranteed tournament that seemed far beyond your bankroll is suddenly within easy reach – when you score in a satellite. Many online poker tournaments that have big prize pools also have sizeable buy-ins, which is why Absolute Poker makes it easy for all players have a chance to play for a fraction of the cost and get their seat on the cheap.
