Poker Bet breeds Golfer Trouble

A poker player and former pro golfer has been told he can not compete in golf at the amateur level despite a former ruling by the USGA thanks to a million dollar poker and golf challenge that he issued. Dusty Schmidt, who stopped his pro golf career after a heart attack at a very young age, had his amateur status renewed when he returned to the game. After making a million dollar bet to anyone who could beat him at poker and 72 holes of golf, the USGA thinks he should be considered a pro, as he would be making money by playing golf.
